Canada Research Chairs
Canada Research Chairs are awarded by the Government of Canada to attract and retain Canada's leading researchers and to develop the potential of outstanding academics, and to make Canada a world leader in research and development. These awards recognize exemplary scholars who are acknowledged by their peers as current or emerging world leaders in their fields, and are tenable for either five or seven years.
McCalla Professors
The McCalla Research Professorships are awarded by the University to professors who have made significant contributions in their field, and who successfully integrate teaching, learning and research. The awards provide teaching release to allow recipients to concentrate on research and creative projects.
Killam Awards
Killam Annual Professorships
The Killam Annual Professorship award is based on scholarly activities such as teaching, research, publications, creative activities, presented papers, supervision of graduate students and courses taught,as well as service to the community beyond the University.

Henry Marshall Tory Chairs
Named for the first president of the University, the Tory Chairs are awarded to outstanding individuals who will enhance the reputation of the University and provide leadership and experience in teaching and research across disciplines.
Faculty Award of Merit for Outstanding Research
This prize is awarded for excellence in research. Winners have been recognized by their peers for their superior research of either an applied or theoretical nature.
